Our Chapters
The Affiliate has established three chapters (build committees): Quinte West in 2002 and Prince Edward County in 2003 and the newest in the Flinton region formed in 2006. The Chapters, or build committees, are charged with building Habitat homes within their areas by recruiting volunteers, identifying needy families, raising funds and organizing the actual build, all with the help of the Affiliate and Habitat Canada.
Three Chapters, Quinte West, Prince Edward County, and Flinton have built four homes while Belleville's St Theresa Secondary School's students and staff built a home in Belleville in 2008.
We are pleased to welcome the creation of two new build committees, Bloomfield's Bethany Christian Reformed Church group, and a recently formed group in Bancroft which wished to build a Habitat Home in the Bancroft area perhaps as early as 2010.
More Build Committees are needed in other areas of Hastings County especially in Central Hastings communities. Anyone interested in helping to start a Build Committee should contact us.
