2008 Build: Belleville, ON

Students and staff take a break on July 2 at the build site in Belleville The roof joists will soon be up
St Theresa Secondary School may be out for the summer, but these students and staff member are on the job at the 10th Habitat build site for the Affiliate. Walls are made of insulated concrete forms (ICF) for maximum energy efficiency in thirst first "Energy Efficient Building" in Belleville.
One of the many St Theresa Secondary School students takes a lunch break at the job site. There will be lots of insulation in this special energy efficient home. Heating will be provided by an in-floor central heating system.
The final cement pour for the Belleville Habitat build means that the roof joists can go up next. The energy efficient home makes use of ICF construction method. St. Theresa Secondary School students and staff help during the final cement pour at the Belleville build site on George Street.
The George Street Habitat home is taking shape as of July 16th. The Energy Star home has in floor heating installed for maximum energy efficiency.
By September 8, the windows have been installed, the internal framing is complete and the wiring is done.
As of October 7th most of the siding was installed. Inside the heating system was to be hooked up so dry walling can begin....won't be long now. Habitat volunteer, Susan Sivel, chats with Cheryl about the roomy second floor of the George Street house.
New Habitat home buyer, Cheryl Rohrback, does some cleaning up as workmen complete a plumbing job during the second week of September. Drywall not fare off... New Habitat home buyer, Leverne Rohrback, helps install insulation on the second floor walls and ceiling. Affiliate volunteer of the year, Vince, is on the job once again installing the "bird's nests" on the corners of the house.
The final touches are underway at the 2008 Habitat build in Belleville just in time for the family to move in before Christmas.

Workers were busy on December 10 getting ready for the family to move in on December 13, just in time for Christmas.

The children were really excited to be in their new home to organize their very own rooms.
The newest Habitat family are in their home a few days before Christmas. A dedication ceremony on December 20th made it official.

The Wall of Fame is growing at the latest Habitat home build in Belleville.
