EMC Lifestyles - Quinte West - The official sod-turning was held May 9 for the Frankford build of Habitat for Humanity. The family with two small children and a new puppy stood inside the foundation of their home on Frankford Road for the first time. Kyrin, three, tried out the shiny shovel for the groundbreaking and proved to be ready to take up construction. His brother Keegan, 20 months, was just happy to see a new puppy join the family. But parents Erin Valyear and Kyle Minnie were delighted."This is the first time we can get a feel for what the house will look like," Erin said smiling. "It's so exciting!"The Reverend Mary Gibbons gave a blessing for the house, and building committee chair Ted Brown announced the construction would be moving forward quickly."The walls will be up next," he said. "There will be great changes. By June you will see a real structure here."He said this was a team project and thanked all the volunteers.
